RISHI Sunak paid a surprise visit to Ukraine over the weekend to meet Volodymyr Zelensky, who pledged “continued British support”.
During his trip, Mr Sunak announced the UK would pledge a further £50m to bolster Ukraine’s defenses against Putin’s brutal war.
The Prime Minister said: “While Ukrainian forces manage to push back Russian forces on the ground, civilians are being brutally bombed from the air.
“Today we are deploying new air defenses, including anti-aircraft guns, radar and anti-drone equipment, and stepping up humanitarian assistance for the cold, harsh winter ahead.
“It is deeply humbling to be in Kyiv today and to have the opportunity to meet those who are doing so much and paying such a high price.”
