TOTTENHAM will reportedly prioritize former boss Mauricio Pochettino over Thomas Tuchel if coach Antonio Conte leaves.
Conte’s contract with Spurs expires in June and his future is uncertain as he is yet to show any signs of signing a new deal.
That’s why the north Londoners are looking into potential replacements should Conte decide to quit at the end of the season.
Thomas Tuchel is posing as a potential candidate as he is still a free agent following his sacking by Chelsea in September.
However, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Tuchel does not represent a priority for the club hierarchy.
In fact, Tottenham will consider other candidates including Pochettino ahead of the German tactician if they need a new manager.
Jacobs tweeted: “I have told Thomas Tuchel that if Antonio Conte leaves, it is not Tottenham’s priority.
“Other candidates, including Mauricio Pochettino, will be considered ahead of Tuchel if Conte exits.”
Pochettino, who is also a free agent after departing from Paris Saint-Germain last year, has earned plenty of recognition during his five-year tenure at Tottenham.
The Argentina head coach guided Spurs to four top-four finishes in the Premier League.

The ex-PSG boss also guided the north Londoners to the 2019 Champions League final where they lost to Liverpool.
Pochettino was sacked just months after the final after a string of poor results.
