THIS is the terrifying moment when a runaway car crashed through a store window, throwing a woman away.

In the video, a silver Toyota can be seen speeding down the sidewalk and into the storefront where unsuspecting customers were sitting.

The hatchback sped through the front of Kake Temptations in Batley, West Yorkshire and collided with a table, narrowly missing the man sitting at it but throwing his companion across the room.

The driver was able to stop the swerving vehicle before it flew through the deli counter, but tables and chairs were smashed under its wheels.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the horror smash, which reportedly took place around 3:30pm yesterday.

The store’s main window was shattered by the impact and the car’s front bumper was ripped off and stranded in the middle of the store.

By now, shards of glass were strewn across the street.

Police, firefighters and ambulances rushed to the crime scene, which was cordoned off.

A firefighter eventually reverses the car out of the shop while others clear broken glass off the road.

The cafe’s owners said in a statement: “Unfortunately, as many of you know, due to recent events we will be closed until further notice.

“Fortunately, no injuries were recorded. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and hope to be able to return to normal as soon as possible.”

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed it treated two people at the scene.

Nothing is currently known about the cause of the accident and how the accident happened to the driver.

However, they added that none of them were taken to the hospital.

West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
