The 16-year-old was repeatedly attacked on a Victoria Line train in south London in front of frightened commuters on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene after 3pm following reports of a stabbing to find the teenager with serious injuries.

The teenager is believed to have had a hunting knife during the Stockwell train station incident, reports the Evening Standard.

The 18-year-old, from Stockwell, was held in police custody and was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today.

British Transport Police said an 18-year-old was treated for minor injuries and then released into police custody.

The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital with two stab wounds.

Detective Inspector Paul Attwell said: “This was a particularly violent incident on a busy Tube service in which one man was seriously injured.
