YOUR iPhone has a hidden button on the back of the handset: the Apple logo.

Yes, it may look like a useless icon – but it has a big secret.

A full range of tasks can actually be performed with a tap.

The trick was shared widely on TikTok, including recently by @reboxed, where it received dozens of likes.

In the iPhone settings, there is an option to enable a feature called Back Tap.

A simple double or triple tap on the back of the phone can perform multiple functions.

One of the most popular is to let the iPhone take a screenshot – to save you fiddling with multiple physical buttons.

You can also use it to launch Shazam.

Shazam — now owned by Apple — scans nearby audio and identifies a song that’s playing.

So when you hear a track you like, you can use Back Tap to name the track very quickly.

It’s much easier than manually loading an app.

To enable the feature, make sure you have updated to iOS 14 or later. To do this, go to Settings > General > Software update.

Then go to your settings.

Scroll down and tap Accessibility, then tap Touch.

Then scroll down to “Back Tap”.

You have the choice to enable “Double Tap” or “Triple Tap”.

Regardless of what you choose, you have the same options.

Click here to see what features you can now control with a double or triple tap on the back of your phone.

These include taking screenshots, increasing or decreasing the volume, zooming in, scrolling, and more.

For example, if you want to use a double tap to take screenshots, click on the “Double Tap” option and then enable “Shazam Shortcut” or “Screenshot”.

Now you should be able to take a screenshot simply by double tapping the back of your phone.

Keep in mind that this feature may not work if you have a thick phone case.

You can toggle back tap features or turn them off at any time by following the same steps above.

If you want two different features, opt for one on Double Tap and another on Triple Tap.
