A REALLY shocking video captured the moment a driver angrily reverses behind a cyclist and then runs over a dog.

The video, uploaded to YouTube’s Road.cc channel, is a terrifying reminder that road rage is extremely dangerous.

The video was captured with a camera mounted on a bicycle moving along a narrow North Yorkshire country lane.

About a minute into the footage, the driver can be heard yelling at a Ford Kuga SUV, which he believes is too far away and could hit him.

The Ford drives past the cyclist and, upon hearing the screams, stops immediately and begins to reverse.

It’s not clear what the driver is trying to do, but they are beginning to catch the cyclist at an alarming rate.

But just as it looks like the SUV is about to catch up with the cyclist, a quad bike appears on the left of the video.

The quad was sidestepped by the SUV and a dog riding in the back is thrown as it swerves.

Unfortunately, the dog is thrown under the wheels of the Ford Kuga.

The Ford driver immediately stops the car and the cyclist also comes to a stop and then walks back to the scene of the accident.

While the incident has infuriated people online in the comments section of the video, police opinion has differed.

The rider, who reported himself to Road.cc, told the cycling website that police would not be investigating the matter.

Called only Peter, he told Road.cc: “I have reported this incident to North Yorkshire Police.

“Their answer over the phone was that no traffic offenses had been committed and that they would do nothing.

“My shout of ‘caution’ when an oncoming wide SUV overtook me at what I felt was too fast for a single lane country road, they briefly referred to as ‘road rage’ and a factor that contributed to the driver then running at high speed Speed set me back.”
