LIFE in the Dales hasn’t exactly been kind to Rishi Sharma, but he’s about to suffer another heartbreak.
The Emmerdale resident is dejected to realize he is being kept at a distance by his own daughter.
After more than a decade in the village of the same name, actress Fiona Wade is ready to move on to new projects.
Her on-screen alter ego, Priya Sharma, is set to leave her life behind.
But when the wedding planner’s father, Rishi Sharma (portrayed by Bhasker Patel), stays behind in the Yorkshire Dales, he comes to a sad realization.
Rishi is disappointed to realize that Priya had no intention of taking him out of the village.
What will he do when faced with this harsh rejection?
As mentioned above, Priya is set for an emotional exit, but it won’t be without some explosive drama.
It all begins when the lingering trauma from her ordeal comes back in a maze fire to haunt her as a veil of candles is lit during a Make a Vow event.
Later she gets help from her brother Jai (Chris Bisson) and the village doctor Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
As Priya deals with her trauma, Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi) is upset when a client, Justin, offers her a job with his team in London.
Despite being overwhelmed, Priya manages not to let her past affect the present, and the next day she shocks Leyla and Suzy Merton by showing up at work.
While Leyla is trying to make a decision about the job in London, Priya later runs into Justin before the hop.
She confesses past events and explains her past trauma.
Impressed by her honesty and vulnerability, Justin invites her over for coffee… just as Leyla accepts the job on the phone.
Leyla’s jaw drops when she finds out that Priya was offered the job at Justin’s company.
Although she defends herself by saying she had no idea Leyla was even offered the job, Priya is accused of sabotage by her boss.
And a spiraling David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) will make things worse for Priya.
Emmerdale airs weekdays from 7.30pm on ITV.
