THIS is the shocking moment a Road Rage driver rams a cyclist onto his hood while the driver screams in terror.

Ahmed Al-Rawi, 55, was caught repeatedly driving into the victim after clipping her on a road in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The unnamed cyclist can be heard repeatedly in the video yelling “stop” as Al-Rawi drove two or three car lengths with the victim on the hood.

Footage then shows Al-Rawi being dragged from his car by police before being arrested at the scene during the July 28, 2020 incident.

The former Iraqi national was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment with an 18-month suspended sentence and a one-year driving ban.

Al-Rawi is also paying the victim £500 in compensation and having to retake his driving test.

He pleaded not guilty to a dangerous driving charge, but was convicted by a jury in June after nearly four hours of deliberation.

Winchester Crown Court heard that after initially circumcising the victim, she and Al-Rawi became “delighted” in a verbal altercation.

Al-Rawi threw the victim’s electric bicycle out of the way of his car, but the victim stopped in front of his vehicle to prevent him from proceeding.

But he decided to go anyway, forcing the cyclist onto his car and not stopping several car lengths down Devizes Road.

Prosecutor Leigh Hart said: “I believe the defendant kicked or threw the bike out of the way [the victim] stayed on the road in front of the hood.

“Some verbal words were exchanged and the defendant eventually drove away, which led to this [the victim] about three car lengths on the hood.

“Officials intervened and stopped and arrested the accused, who denied driving was dangerous.”

In an interview and again in court, he said he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder because he was tortured in Iraq.

“[He] thought he was going to be attacked so he wanted to get away,” Ms. Hart continued.

She added that the victim’s electric bicycle, which Al-Rawi had hit and later discarded, was damaged.

At the June 2022 trial, defense attorney Gareth James told the court that al-Rawi had managed to flee Iraq, come to the UK and seek asylum.

Al-Rawi pleaded not guilty, claiming he gave the cyclist “plenty of space” — an argument the judge said the jury likely rejected.

He added: “Heading towards someone is always dangerous and continuing once they hit your bonnet is clearly a dangerous thing and could have resulted in serious injury [the victim].

“This is clearly an offense that exceeds imprisonment.”

However, Judge Richard Parkes QC maintained that Al-Rawi posed “absolutely no danger to the public” even though the offense “clearly exceeds imprisonment”.
