People are realizing why the iPhone weather app is wrong — and it could be your fault

NOBODY likes being caught out in the rain after being badly advised by a weather forecast app.

However, the weather app in Apple iPhones needs some information from its users in order to be more accurate.

The Weather app relies on simulation models that use historical data to predict temperature, humidity, and wind and rain patterns.

But remember, no matter how much information weather forecasts hold, the reality is that the weather can be very unpredictable.

Still, Apple iPhone users are advised to turn on their location services.

This ensures that the built-in app knows the exact area for which it is forecasting the weather.

To give the app access to your location, open the Settings app on the iPhone.

Then tap weather > location > Allow location access > While using the app > switch on Precise location Possibility.

If you select the “While using the app” option, the app will not be able to track your location when you are not using it.

Next, open the Weather app and make sure you’re getting forecast results for My Location.

To do this, click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the page.

Users should then see a list of locations for which they previously looked up the weather.

The My Location weather forecast is at the top of the list.

iPhone users should also make sure their Weather app notifications are turned on – so they stay warm and dry.

The app reminds users to “get notifications when rain or snow starts or stops near you.”

To enable notifications for the app or to check if they are enabled, go to the iPhone settings.

Open minded settings > notifications > notification style > select the weather apps > allow notifications.
