GILLIAN McKeith’s daughter Skylar has hit back at claims the TV presenter faked an illness during her time in the I’m-a-celebrity jungle.

The controversial roommate, 63, starred in the 2010 series and recently finished filming the All Stars edition, which is due to air next year.

You Are What You Eat star Gillian caused quite a stir when she debuted on the show.

She fainted twice during the trials but was called out for her “theatrics” after viewers saw her pull down her top while she was allegedly unconscious.

But Skylar, 28, has slammed those claims and revealed why they’re particularly hurtful to the family.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, she said: “It’s very frustrating because she actually has an illness that she can faint from and she has had that since she was a child.

“It’s annoying that it’s 12 years later, but people still keep saying she faked it. It was real.”

Gillian recently spoke to us about the efforts she made to avoid the Bushtuker trials.

Gillian, who was 51 when she was in the jungle, can see the funny side in retrospect and explained with a laugh: “I tried everything to get out of these trials.

“I tried to tell them I was pregnant and they didn’t believe me. I said, ‘I really think I’m pregnant and we have to take this really seriously.'”

Though she hates the chores, Gillian is one of the celebs who recently filmed the all-star special, which will air next year.

However, Skylar is reluctant to discuss her mum’s second time in the jungle as the line-up is yet to be confirmed by ITV.
