DEAR DEIDRE: After using social media to track down a woman I met on a train, I’m now disappointed to learn she has a boyfriend.
It took me months to find her and now I almost wish I had never started looking.
I’m 32 and met her driving from Manchester to London.
We chatted, but I didn’t have the bottle to get her full name or ask her out.
Weeks of contemplating her and kicking myself made me try to find her with the scant information I had.
I’ve posted requests on Facebook and even in some London newspapers.
Amazingly it worked. She sent me a message but is sorry she has a long term partner and cannot keep in touch.
She asked me to remove all my posts which made me feel like a stalker.
I know it’s nothing personal, but I can’t help but take it as another rejection.
DEIDRE SAYS: You’ve gotten your hopes up and envisioned a future together, so it’s natural that after all your efforts, that feels like a slap in the face.
You didn’t get your fairytale ending, but time will heal.
You’re clearly a sincere, imaginative, and romantic guy, so always get out and meet new people – it’s the best way to find a partner.
In the meantime, my “Moving On” support package should help.
