I’M A Celebrity’s Owen Warner has already emerged as a potential fan favorite after a series of hilarious mistakes during his first trial.

The Hollyoaks actor was paired with Sue Cleaver and rugby royal player Mike Tindall as they headed to a squeamish process to introduce her to the show.

But immediately fans started laughing at him during a series of unfortunate comments and mistakes.

When he introduced himself to Scarlette Douglas, he initially didn’t seem to know who she was, prompting Boy George to tell him she was from A Place In The Sun.

Instead of recognizing the show, he replied, “Oh yeah? Abode?”

He was later seen knocking on a locked door during the trial and poking himself in the eye at the direction of cheeky Sue, who gave him instructions on how to complete the challenge.

Of course, fans immediately warmed to him, even if it was because they found him funny.

owen …. Knock on a locked door ??!! The gift that keeps on giving,” wrote one fan.

“Boy George says oh she’s from a place in the sun owen replies, “Oh, where is that? I think he’ll be fun to watch!” said another.

owen really isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, is it?” added a third. “But ye gods, he’s absolutely stunning to look at.”

This year’s I’m a Celebrity campers will trade their easy lives and luxuries to brave the elements at Australia’s jungle campsite.

This is the show’s triumphant return to its Gold Coast home after Covid travel restrictions forced it to relocate to Gwyrch Castle, Wales for the past two years.

The original cast of the series consists of: Owen Warner from Hollyoaks, 80’s legend Boy George, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, Love Island star Olivia Attwood, Charlene White from Loose Women, radio DJ Chris Moyles, Sue Cleaver from Coronation Street, Rugby Royal Mike Tindall, English soccer star Jill Scott and TV presenter Scarlette Douglas.

In a few days they will be joined by stand-up comic Seann Walsh and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Bushtucker trials are voted for by the public, as always in the first half of the series, before the public vote switches to who to choose from the jungle.

Who will take the crown from reigning champion Danny Miller of Emmerdale?

I’m A Celebrity airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV.
