A new mum has spoken of her fear of a visit from bailiffs over a £170 parking fine she received just days after giving birth.
Elle Gray-Thynne, 28, insists she paid for parking and that the fine was unlawful.
Elle was first told about the fine late in her pregnancy after a day out in Hartlepool.
She says North West Parking Management did not respond to her emails, insisting that she and her partner paid for parking online.
The new mom returned home from hospital after giving birth to find the first of a series of letters threatening the use of collection agencies on her doormat.
“I was afraid of a fine, but I insisted not to pay because I can prove we paid for parking,” Elle said.
The park company claims to have responded to Elle’s emails on Jan. 25, but she says she didn’t receive an email from them.
Debt collectors now say she owes the £170 fine for allegedly failing to pay £2.50 for parking.
North West Parking Management has been contacted for comment.
