ANT McPartlin and Declan Donnelly teased Matt Hancock’s jungle arrival as they confirmed two additional stars will be joining ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

The former health secretary, 44, is expected to enter the Australian camp in the coming days – after dodging launch night’s horrifying parachute jump.

Along with comedian Seann Walsh, he’s one of the surprise additions after the other 10 celebrities who ended up in the jungle in the first episode.

Kicking off the new series, Ant and Dec spoke live from Down Under for the first time since 2019, having spent the last two years filming at Gwrych Castle in North Wales due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

In her opening monologue, Ant, 46, said: “We have not one but two latecomers on the way.

“And fortunately, we managed to keep their identities completely secret. Nobody has any idea who they are.”

December 47 emphasized the word “matte,” adding, “You’ll be surprised folks. We will be rolling out the welcome mat for them soon.”

In response to the criticism, the disgraced politician told The Sun he wanted to use the show’s “incredible platform” to raise awareness about dyslexia, insisting it “wasn’t the check” that made him do it motivated to join the program.

Leaders from organizations specializing in dyslexia said they were grateful to the former cabinet minister for his work raising awareness of the learning disabilities and welcomed a platform for the cause.

After it was announced Hancock would be attending the show, many political figures and famous faces shared their thoughts – including a Tory in Hancock’s West Suffolk constituency.

Speaking of Matt’s forthcoming appearance, Andy Drummond, Chairman of the Newmarket Conservatives and Vice-Chairman (political) of the West Suffolk Conservative Association said: “I’m looking forward to him eating a kangaroo’s penis.

“Quote me. Feel free to quote me that.”

When he brought Matt onto the show, the show’s executive producer Olly Nash swatted away any backlash.

He told ITV News: “We’ve hired a lot of politicians over the years, we’ve also hired people who had very strong views on certain things and sometimes it plays out in camp and sometimes it doesn’t.

“It’s not about dividing the camp, we’ve never been a consciously divisive camp. It is up to them to come into the camp and it is up to them if they want to leave.”

Also among the high profile contestants of this series entering the Australian jungle are rugby player Mike Tindall, pop star Boy George and former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood.
