I’M A Celebrity fans were furious tonight as the show was postponed because of football.

It comes after a night of canceled shows and delays at ITV because of the World Cup.

Fans were furious that the ITV reality show was postponed

In a shake up of ITV’s usual schedule, the soaps were also bitten to make way for the USA v Wales game.

At the end of yesterday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, Ant and Dec announced the change of plans to fans.

The Geordie duo said the show will start at 9:15 p.m. – right after coverage of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

But the show was actually delayed further as football overran its allotted time.

Fans weren’t happy about the disruption, venting on Twitter with one phrase: “So we started the show 20 minutes late because of football and we’re starting to… talk about football? #ImACeleb.”

While another said: “If there’s still people talking about people kicking a ball around instead of #ImACeleb on ITV1.”

He raged: “If it’s 21:14 and ITV is still showing World Cup coverage after the game, like if #ImACeleb doesn’t start in 1 minute #ImACelebrity

Meanwhile, this wasn’t the first time ITV viewers have complained about the television tonight.

Emmerdale and Corrie fans are furious that both soap operas have been cancelled.

One vented: “Damn football! The soaps are always the first to be moved!”

While another said: “Why are soaps moving around there for good reason because of football? #eastenders #emmerdale #Corrie.”

This soap fan wasn’t happy: “The World Cup will ruin the live tweeting of #Emmerdale and #Corrie. Some have already seen this week’s episodes.”

The ITV soap operas face a planning nightmare as Qatar football competition continues

The football tournament, which runs until December 8, will be broadcast on both ITV and the BBC – with the soap schedules in chaos as a result.

With the soaps being buffed tonight, there will be an hour-long Emmerdale tomorrow from 7pm to catch up on the missed episode.

This will be followed by another hour-long episode on Wednesday from 7pm, followed by Coronation Street as usual at 8pm for the first episode of the week.

Thursday at 7 p.m. there will be another hour of Emmerdale.

In another change, Corrie will then air immediately afterwards at 8 p.m. with an hour-long episode, the week’s finale.

Neither soap will air on Friday night when England take on the USA in the World Cup.
