Thomas Tuchel celebrated the greatest success of his coaching career with Chelsea. Now the star coach has spoken about the further direction of his career – and makes an unexpected statement.

Thomas Tuchel, team manager of Champions League winners FC Chelsea, can well imagine being involved in Italy’s Serie A. “There is a nice connection between me and Italy. Italy is a football nation in which you can work well because of the quality,” said the ex-coach of FSV Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund at the weekend as a guest at the sports festival in Trento.

Tuchel continues: “The attitude of Italian football is very tactical. It would be a pure pleasure for me to work in Italy and to feel the atmosphere there.”

Tuchel showed admiration for the Robin Gosens Club Atalanta Bergamo. “As the coach of Paris St.Germain, I saw Atalanta as an opponent. When we analyzed the team, we all fell in love with them. They are bizarre and crazy, they score a lot of goals. I wondered if it really was one Italian team is “, emphasized Tuchel.

The German football teacher is also completely convinced of the skills of striker Romelu Lukaku, who moved to the Blues from Inter Milan. “I’m sorry for the Inter fans, but we have found a player with personality in Lukaku who can take the pressure off the shoulders of the younger players and give us the opportunity to play a faster football,” said Tuchel.

Lukaku always said “that he is happy at Inter because he has achieved so much, but it was important for him to go back to where he played before,” said Tuchel.
