It seems that Mac Jones was destined to become a star by the New England Patriots. The rookie quarterback made an appearance at WEEIs Merloni and Fauria on Tuesday November 16, revealing that he used to be a child actor / model.

Jones was asked about the worst job he ever had and he said:

“I used to be a kid model / actor or whatever, and that was fun … there are a few commercials that you can try and find. I think a lot of people know. “

All the internet needed was a mention and the pictures quickly popped up. Barstool Sports posted the pictures in a tweet:

Who would have thought this little guy would become the Patriots’ future quarterback. By the way, Tom Brady was probably already 40 years old when this picture was taken.

It’s a joke, but probably only around 10 years or so.

For the first 10 games of the season, Jones looks like he’s headed for a Pro Bowl spot and one of the more impressive rookie campaigns from a quarterback we’ve seen.

Jones has already passed 2,333 yards, 13 TDs, and 7 interceptions. In his best game (at least from a purely statistical point of view) he threw 307 yards and 2 TDs without interceptions against the New York Jets last month. Jones has 4 multi-TD games this season and only one competition where he threw more picks than scores.

Jones apparently built a strong chemistry with tight Hunter Henry. The two connected 31 times for 353 yards and 7 TDs. That’s more than halfway through Jones’ TD season.

Jones has been sacked a total of 19 times this season, which the Patriots aim to improve over the last eight games of the campaign. Overall, it looks like Jones could run away with the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. USA Today’s Mike Jones raved about Jones after the Patriots’ week 10 blowout win against the Cleveland Browns.

Jones wrote:

Early in week 11, Jones is on track to throw close to 4,000 yards. There is reason to believe the pace could accelerate as the rookie is expected to become more comfortable as the season progresses.

Likewise, he’s up to speed to throw 22 TD passes. It seems he could do even better than this perfectly acceptable projection. The Patriots found a good one in this former child actor / model.
