Manchester United have confirmed Paul Pogba will leave the club this summer.

The France international came through Old Trafford’s youth ranks and returned to the club in 2016 for a then-world-record fee after a successful spell at Juventus.

But the 29-year-old’s return hasn’t worked out the way either side would like and the world champion will now leave United this summer when his contract expires.

Pogba was injured in the last month of the season, his last game for the club being the 4-0 defeat by Liverpool in April.

The club confirmed the news with a lengthy statement thanking Pogba for his efforts since joining from Le Havre aged 16.

“Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Paul on his successful career and thank him for his contributions to Manchester United,” they said.

“We wish him all the best for the next steps on a remarkable journey.”

Former club Juventus are the big favorites to re-sign him at Paris Saint-Germain and rivals Manchester City are also said to be interested.
