The New York Jets lost their bid for an earlier first-round draft pick.

Corresponding Adam Scherter by ESPN, Gang Green was one of eight NFL teams to file a waiver claim for defenseman Jerry Tillery.

The Los Angeles Chargers surprisingly announced his release on Thursday 10 November.

The Las Vegas Raiders received Tillery from waivers.

The waiver wire system will be decided in reverse order of the current ranking. In other words, the worse your records are, the higher your priority for the waiver.

Well, that wasn’t usually a problem with the Jets because they’ve only won one season in the last 11 years. This means that in most cases they had a favorable position in the waiver priority to acquire the one that became available.

Although as Zack Rosenblatt as eloquently put it on Twitter by The Athletic: “The Jets are too good now to be given priority on the waiver.”

A new first world problem for the jets in 2022.

Tillery originally entered the NFL as the No. 28 overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft.

This is an evolving story and we will provide new details as they become available.
