The 30-year-old originally joined the NFL in 2016 as an undrafted free agent.

After initially signing with the Arizona Cardinals post-draft, he fought for one of those prized last 53-man roster spots but didn’t quite make it.

Farley was then released from waivers by the Indianapolis Colts and served three seasons there from 2016 to 2019.

The former Golden Domer eventually signed with the Jets and became a key reserve on defense. Although he really proved himself as a special team warrior and was good enough to become a team captain.

In those two seasons with Gang Green, Farley played in 29 games and started in two of those competitions:

Last season he was with the Tennessee Titans and played in all 17 games. Now Farley will continue his NFL career on the opposite coast with a Raiders playoff roster.

On Wednesday, July 20, it was reported that the Jets signed former Philadelphia Eagles cornerback and special teamer Craig James.

The move became official Wednesday, and in a related move, the Jets placed offensive tackle Greg Senate on the non-football injury list, according to ESPN Rich Cimini.

Senate is a player who is not expected to make the roster save for an unforeseen bang during training camp.

However, there are much higher hopes for James in secondary school. In addition to what he can offer as a cornerstone, the team is excited about his skills on special teams.

I spoke to Mike Kaye, Pro Football Network’s Lead NFL Reporter, for an exclusive interview on my YouTube channel. He provided fascinating insight into a player not many people know much about.

Kaye said James “can be a special team demon” and was team captain during his time with the Eagles. He said if James makes the list, he’ll be your fourth or fifth cornerback on the depth chart.

In any normal year, James would have a very clear path to creating the roster given the Jets’ typical depth at the corner. However, this is not a normal year.

This off-season, the green-whites completely flipped the narrative and added some premium pieces to the roster. James will have to fight tooth and nail if he wants to still wear a Jets uniform when the final 53-man roster is announced.
