Ronaldo is currently on duty for Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar and United have confirmed he will not be returning to the club

Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United with immediate effect following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

As reported by I Last month, Ronaldo’s contract was mutually terminated and he will now be able to find a new club in January.

“The club thank him for his immense contribution in two games at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wish him and his family all the best for the future,” United said in a statement.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the progress of the team under Erik ten Hag and working together to succeed on the pitch.”

Speaking to Morgan on Talk TV, Ronaldo made a series of extraordinary attacks on the club, insisting he had “no respect” for manager Ten Hag and accused the Glazers of making “zero progress” since Sir Alex Ferguson’s tenure ended close.
