The New York City Department of Environmental Protection said staff responded Monday when the sinkhole opened on Radcliff Avenue in the Bronx’s Morris Park neighborhood.

July 19 (News) — A van parked on the side of a New York City street was swallowed up by a hole in the ground and the moment was caught on camera.

Video shows the hole in the ground opening up and swallowing the van while another vehicle tumbles on the edge.

Officials said the vehicles were unoccupied and no injuries were reported.

Antonio Papadoboulos, the van’s owner, said he had no plans to have the vehicle repaired.

“I’m just going to buy another one,” he told News 12.

The DEC said personnel were on site Tuesday to fill the hole after the van was pulled out.

Officials said the block will be closed for repairs for about a week.

The DEC said the cause of the sinkhole is being investigated.
