Zoo visitors captured video on Sunday as the dog watched running around the gorilla exhibit while one of the large primates chased after the dog.

June 13 (News) — San Diego Zoo Safari Park officials said a dog was safely rescued after it was spotted roaming around the gorilla exhibit.

Officials said zookeepers were able to safely remove the dog from the gorillas’ habitat and the dog, a male German Shepherd, was given to the San Diego Humane Society.

Humane Society officials said they believe the dog wandered into the park on its own. They said the dog was not collared or microchipped, but they are restraining the dog while they try to find its owner.

The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance said the dog was one of two dogs that wandered into the park on Sunday. They said the other dog was also safely captured and had not entered any shows.
