A 20-year-old man was arrested in Ilford, east London, on Wednesday 23 November and another 21-year-old man was arrested in Northampton on Thursday 24 November.

They are both being held on suspicion of murder at a south London police station.

Police officers who were hit were called over London Ambulance Service to reports from a shooting at a house in Henley Road, Ilford, on October 25.

Three men were found with gunshot wounds, Scotland Yard said.

Saydi Abu Sheikh, 23, and Zakariya Jeilani Mohamed, 32, both from Ilford, died at the scene.

Mr Mohamed died of hypovolemic shock after suffering stab and gunshot wounds to his torso.

Mr. Sheikh died of stab wounds to his upper body.

A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds and is in serious but stable condition.

A woman who lives near the scene said the sounds of gunfire were drowned out by firecrackers for the Diwali celebrations.

The families of all three men continue to receive support from specialist officials.

Two men have been charged as part of the same investigation.
