World Wrestling Entertainment’s board of directors is investigating a bombastic hush-money deal involving CEO Vince McMahon, who reportedly cheated on his wife with a co-worker

The board of World Wrestling Entertainment has reportedly opened an investigation into a $3million (£2.4million) hush-money settlement over an alleged affair.

The Wall Street Journal has revealed that CEO Vince McMahon paid his alleged lover, who was a departing employee, to keep her quiet.

According to the newspaper, the agreement aims to prevent the worker from speaking out about their relationship and was finalized in January.

It is believed that the woman, who was a paralegal at the company, is also not critical of McMahon.

A WWE spokesperson told the publication that the company was cooperating in the investigation into the board.

They added that the relationship between the couple is amicable.

The 76-year-old is married to Linda McMahon, who served as CEO of WWE and as Small Business Administration chief in Donald Trump’s administration.

The investigation also uncovered confidentiality pacts related to misconduct claims made by other female employees who worked at the company, according to the report.

It was reported that the agreements included McMahon and WWE talent manager John Laurinaitis, who wrestled under the name Johnny Ace.

McMahon’s attorney, Jerry McDevitt, told the newspaper the ex-employee had not made any allegations of harassment against him.

He also said WWE didn’t give her any money, the newspaper added.

McMahon took over the company from his father in the early 1980s. WWE is publicly traded but owns most of the voting stock.
