An angry man threatened to kill the staff when the kitchen closed and the staff couldn’t serve him a portion of chips, police said.

The 24-year-old man in Australia was charged after allegedly telling staff that he was carrying knives and that he would kill them if they did not follow orders.

According to police, he walked into a shop in East Perth, Australia around 9 p.m. on Friday evening and tried to order chips with his meal.

But when he learned that the kitchen was closed, he reportedly threatened to kill the staff if they didn’t cook the fries for him.

A police spokesman said in a statement Friday: “It is alleged that when he was warned that the kitchen was closed, he showed the staff that he was carrying knives and threatened to kill the staff if the chips were not for him would be cooked.

“Fearing for their safety, the staff started cooking his order and notified the police.”

When the hungry man was waiting for his chips, police officers arrived at the scene and he was arrested.

Police said the knives and cash he put on the counter to pay for his meal were also confiscated.

The man from Parmelia has now been charged with threatening death, armed with fear and failure to comply with a request to surrender his identity.

He was denied bail by police and is expected to appear in Perth Magistrates Court later on Saturday.
