“Fearing for their safety, the staff started cooking his order and notified the police.”
When the hungry man was waiting for his chips, police officers arrived at the scene and he was arrested.
Police said the knives and cash he put on the counter to pay for his meal were also confiscated.
The man from Parmelia has now been charged with threatening death, armed with fear and failure to comply with a request to surrender his identity.
He was denied bail by police and is expected to appear in Perth Magistrates Court later on Saturday.
