June 13 (News) — Starstruck will return for a third season on HBO Max.

The streaming service said in a press release on Monday that it had renewed the comedy series for Season 3 in partnership with BBC Three.

Starstruck is created by Rose Matafeo and stars. The series was co-written by Matafeo, Alice Snedden and Nic Sampson, with Matafeo and Snedden directing.

Starstruck follows Jessie (Matafeo), an East London-based millennial who juggles two dead-end jobs and navigates the complications of a romantic relationship with famous movie star Tom (Nikesh Patel).

“Rose has created a show that strikes just the right balance of heart and humor. Starstruck is exactly the kind of rom-com we love at HBO Max, and we’re thrilled that the Jessie and Tom story continues,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content at HBO Max.

Starstruck is a breath of fresh comedy air that perfectly captures the emotional chaos of a new relationship with sharp wit, wry humor and a candid look – we can’t wait to see what Rose and the team have in store for Jessie and Tom’s new series added Gregor Sharp, a member of the BBC Comedy Commissioning Team.

Minnie Driver and Russell Tovey have also starred in previous seasons.

Starstruck originally premiered on BBC One in April 2021.
