After criticizing the first drafts of the traffic light coalition on new corona measures, Greens boss Robert Habeck announces tightening. The focus: unvaccinated.
The Greens chairman Robert Habeck has announced that the possible traffic light coalition partners will tighten their plans for a modified infection protection law. “We are also expanding the toolbox in relation to the proposals that were introduced in the first reading in the German Bundestag,” he said on Sunday evening in the ARD “Tagesthemen”. It should still be possible for the unvaccinated to prevent contact even if the special status of the epidemic situation of national scope has expired on November 25th. “Contact prohibition or 2G regulation means in large parts: Lockdown for unvaccinated people. That is the vulgar translation.”
There may also be an opening clause for the federal states to go beyond the general measures. “The law is now getting a new legal basis, a more secure legal basis,” said Habeck. “We are only taking away the possibility: area-wide lockdown without differentiation for vaccinated and unvaccinated people.”
He rejected criticism of the corona course of the parties of a possible traffic light coalition. All those who criticized them just wanted to hide their own inaction. Obviously with a view to the caretaker federal government under Union leadership, he added that the booster vaccinations were lagging behind and the free tests had been temporarily abolished – “that is the real political omission”.
