A primary school in Lower Saxony has been completely closed since Monday. The reason: a corona outbreak. At least seven people were initially infected. Now all are to be tested.
After a corona outbreak, a primary school in the Ammerland district in northwest Lower Saxony was completely closed. At the school in Westerstede, four students, a teacher and two other people were infected with the corona virus, the district said. The media reported on Tuesday.
From the neighboring classes, positive results from the first rapid tests had also been reported to the health department, it said. Infected and contact groups have been quarantined. Because the outbreak could not be narrowed down, the health department had instructed the school to switch from classroom teaching to distance teaching.
The school has been closed since Monday. In the coming days, smears are to be taken from all students, teachers and supervisors. The district announced that all classes should remain in homeschooling until the test results are available.
