A doctor from Great Britain looked after corona patients in the intensive care unit for months until he became infected too. The 45-year-old did not survive the infection despite being vaccinated.
Surgeon Irfan Halim has died after fighting the coronavirus for nine weeks. This is reported, among other things, by the British daily “The Guardian”. He worked in the Covid intensive care unit in the hospital in the British city of Swindon and is said to have been infected there too.
Halim is said to have collapsed on his shift on September 10th. He was first in the intensive care unit in Swindon and was then transferred to a London hospital which specializes in heart and lung diseases. He was double vaccinated and was about to get his booster vaccination. The 45-year-old died on November 14, shortly after the death of his father, who was also infected with the corona virus.
His brother Amir Halim told the BBC: “We were hoping that given his age he would recover. He was a fit and healthy young man.”
