Another picture by the well-known British artist Banksy will be put up for auction. The special thing about it: the motif was shredded three years ago. The artist himself was responsible for it.

A partially shredded work by British artist Banksy will be auctioned again on Thursday in London (12 noon CEST). According to the auction house Sotheby’s, the estimated price is four to six million pounds (just under five to seven million euros). Sotheby’s auctioned the painting for a million pounds three years ago – a few moments before a shredder built into the frame surprisingly got going.

Shortly afterwards, Banksy confessed to the action. He gave the resulting new work the name “Love is in the bin” (love is in the bucket). The picture is one of Banksy’s most famous motifs, it shows a girl reaching for a heart-shaped red balloon. On Friday, Christie’s auction house in London is auctioning another version of the motif.
