Rosalba Maria Grime lured her pregnant friend to a fake baby shower before beating her to death with a brick, slitting her uterus, and stealing her baby

A twisted monster has been locked up for beating her friend to death in order to cut her open and steal her unborn baby.

Rosalba Maria Grime lured Flavia Godinho Mafra, 24, to a fake baby shower before hitting her with a brick on August 27 in Canelinha, Brazil.

A court learned how the 27-year-old had planned the act and investigated how to remove the unborn child from the womb and researched how to simulate childbirth.

According to the defendants themselves, she led the victim to abandoned pottery, where there were bricks with which she could hit the 36-week-pregnant woman several times on the head.

An autopsy showed she died of bleeding after her stomach was cut open with a utility knife and her unborn baby was removed from her womb before her body was hidden in an oven.

After the killing, Grime went to a hospital with her partner, who at the time believed she was pregnant and had just given birth, where she told staff that she had just given birth.

However, the hospital staff were suspicious of the woman’s account and called the police.

Her partner was initially suspected of involvement in the murder but was acquitted in July.

The prosecutor then concluded that he really thought his partner was pregnant.

In a trial lasting just 15 hours, Grime was found guilty of aggravated murder, attempted murder of a baby, covering up a corpse, obstruction of justice, kidnapping a minor and denial of the rights of a newborn child.

The court in the city of Tijucas in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina sentenced 27-year-old Rozalba Maria Grime to 56 years and 10 months in prison on Wednesday, November 24.

Prosecutor Alexandre Cart Muniz commented on the jury’s decision, following the understanding of the State Department and that the accused were aware of their actions and were mentally capable of being convicted of their crimes.

He said: “It is the result of a work that the Ministry of Public Relations has carried out together with the civil police, in which we have not only been able to highlight the question of materiality and authorship, which is quite undisputed for me.

“But also to see – even on the part of IGP, which did an excellent job of preparing the mental health report – that it had the full ability to understand the illegal nature of the facts and also to be in control of its actions. “

It is understood that the defense will be able to appeal the judgment.
