SEAL BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — A man believed to be armed with a gun was shot dead by police officers in Seal Beach.
Officers responded to a call about a “suspect person” outside an apartment building on Block 100 of Old Ranch Road around 9:40 p.m. Monday, according to the Seal Beach Police Department.
Officers contacted the man who allegedly produced a gun. The officers then opened fire.
The suspect, described only as a 47-year-old Irvine male, was taken to a hospital and later died. No officers were injured.
A firearm was found at the scene, police said. Further details were not available.
