Inverness police are asking for evidence following a report of sexual assault that occurred early in the morning yesterday morning.
The incident occurred on Brown Street around 2:15 p.m. The victim, a 35-year-old woman, was unharmed but shaken.
The suspect is described as a man about 40 years old, about six feet tall, slender, with a tanned complexion and short, messy, dark hair. He wore a dark top or a jacket with light-colored trousers.
Detective Sergeant Christopher MacLeod said, “Fortunately, the victim was not injured in this incident and the man was chased out by both the victim and a friend in the area.
“We appeal to all witnesses who believed they saw a man who matched the description in the area around Brown Street on Wednesday morning between midnight and 2:00 a.m.
“We continue to work to combat incidents of violent and sexual crime and will step up our patrols in the region.”
