IDF attacks Gaza in response to overnight rocket fire on Israel

June 18 (News) — The Israel Defense Forces attacked targets in the Gaza Strip on Saturday in response to what they said were the first Hamas rockets fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip since April.

The rocket came after three Palestinians were killed and 10 others injured in armed clashes with IDF soldiers in Jenin on Friday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad branch of the al-Quds Brigades had warned that Israel would “pay a heavy price” for the incident, the Jerusalem Post reported.
