Former Health Minister Matt Hancock has tested positive for Covid-19 after a second infection with the virus.
Mr Hancock said he had self-isolated at home since Monday afternoon following the test result.
“Yesterday afternoon I tested positive for coronavirus. Since then, I’ve been isolating at home, ”he said on Twitter.
“Fortunately, I’m fine. Much better than last time and that’s thanks to the vaccine. Get your booster now, if you haven’t already. “
Mr Hancock first contracted the virus in April 2020, at the height of the first wave of pandemics, before vaccines were available.
He was forced to resign as health minister in June 2021 after leaked CCTV footage showing him frolic in his office with an assistant, in violation of the social distancing rules of the time.
