Four football fans arrested during Scottish Cup final

Four people were arrested at Hampden Park during the Scottish Cup final, but police said there were “no significant problems” at the game.

The people were arrested in connection with minor disruptions to the Hearts v Rangers game in Glasgow on Saturday.

While four arrests were made during the game, police thanked “the vast majority of fans” for their behavior.

Superintendent Pat Murphy said: “There was an adequate policing plan in place to maintain public safety and minimize disruption to the community during the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

“No major issues were identified during or after the game and I would like to thank the vast majority of fans in attendance.

“Four people have been arrested in connection with minor disturbances and a report will be submitted to prosecutors.”

The game, kicked off at 15:00 at Hampden Park, saw Rangers lift the trophy and beat Hearts 2–0, with goals scored in extra time.
