Bow and arrow suspect named as Danish citizen Espen Andersen Bråthen, who rioted in the streets of Kongsberg Norway and killed five people in an “act of terrorism”

A man who rioted on the edge with a bow and arrow in Kongsberg, Norway, was referred to as 37-year-old Espen Andersen Bråthen.

Five people were killed by suspect Bråthen, a Danish citizen, after attacking people in an “act of terrorism”.

The victims include four women and a man who were injured during the rampage with a police officer, among others.

Bråthen managed to escape the officers after initially confronting him after he started firing arrows at them.

He was arrested with a bow and arrow in the village about half an hour later at 6.47 p.m. after a wave of terrorist attacks.

A statement by the Norwegian Security Service PST said: “The Kongsberg incidents currently appear to be an act of terrorism, but the investigation, led by the Southeast Police District, will clarify more precisely what motivated the incidents.”

According to Sky News, Bråthen has been convicted several times in the past and previously identified as a sign of radicalization.

Last year, he was also given a six-month restraining order against two family members after threatening to kill both of them.

Bråthen was also convicted of burglary and cannabis possession in 2012.

There were also reports that Bråthen made a video about converting to Islam posted on YouTube, but it has since been postponed, according to Sky News.

Police say they are investigating whether Bråthen’s actions could “encourage” more violent acts in the future.

The PST statement goes on to say: “PST is working to investigate whether what happened could inspire others to commit serious acts of violence in the form of follow-up, revenge and more.”

According to VG, his mother is Danish and he has Danish citizenship, but Bråthen was born in Norway.

Bråthen has admitted to carrying out the attack and is charged with the murders.
