Dr. Giovanni Miniello, 60, was filmed telling an actress who posed as a patient that she had the human papillomavirus (HPV) and claimed that he could cure it by having sex with her

An Italian gynecologist nicknamed “Dr. Magic Flute” resigned after he was exposed for telling women with a cancerous virus that sex with him was the cure.

An undercover investigation by journalists from Italian television “Le Iene” caught Dr. Giovanni Miniello red-handed when he was aired half-naked in a hotel room with a patient.

The 33-year-old woman reportedly went to see him about her fertility problems.

But the doctor was unprofessional from the start, saying he touched her breasts without explanation and allegedly told her he likes women with small breasts, she told La Repubblica.

After some tests, he is said to have suspected that, despite a negative result after a swab test, she had evidence of human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted DNA virus that can cause cancer.

When she contacted him about the test results, she was appalled when he allegedly said she could be cured by having sex with him and then offered an appointment.

He said to her: “I saved many women from cancer. Everyone I had contact with was negative afterwards.”

The woman, who had already consulted a lawyer on the suspicion of the doctor, recorded the conversation and took it with her on the investigative news program.

Le Iene hired an actress to see the doctor, who quickly repeated the same strategy as before and also offered the same treatment for sex with him.

He also claimed that having sex with someone like him who had been vaccinated would confer immunity on her, and he offered to see if he could immunize her by having sex with her.

In the hotel room, the doctor undressed and told her that she would be free of the virus afterwards.

When the undercover actress asks about protection, he claims it’s pointless because then she wouldn’t benefit from the antibodies if he had latex.

Before anything else happened, a journalist came into the room and surprised the half-naked 60-year-old, who protested: “I’m doing this for my studies and for the other people I’ve saved.”

Of his attorney, Miniello said, “I, who have successfully treated hundreds of women for over 40 years, have only suggested one alternative treatment that has produced results.”

He also added that he never forced women to have sex with him and always gave them “absolute freedom of choice”.

Marika Massara, the coordinator of the anti-violence center in Bari, said: “We have received several reports in the last few days, dozens.

“Women who have come together and been through a similar situation. Some consider reporting this, others are afraid, also because the level of secondary victimization we are experiencing is very high.”

The public prosecutor in Bari has opened an investigation.
