Despite the power outage, the pregnant woman still had a cesarean and now the parents have filed an incident report with the Baja California Attorney’s Office

A doctor using three cellphones for lighting nearly cut off a baby’s ear as it was delivered by cesarean section in a Mexican hospital.

At the Mexicali International Specialties Clinic in Mexicali, Baja California, the power was out for about 26 minutes when the obstetrician decided to continue the procedure on the 19-year-old mother, taking advantage of the glare from the phones -be Karla Urizandi was already under Anesthetized before the lights went out.

Her gynecologist was there along with the obstetrician Dr. David Santoyo and another doctor, with Juan Adriel Solis duly born on June 6th.

But his left ear was replaced by Dr. Santoyo cut trying to remove a hemangioma – a vascular birthmark – causing the baby’s head to swell.

“With three phones pointed at my stomach, they begin to perform a cesarean,” the shocked teen explained on TikTok.

“I told him no, I don’t want to die. In fact, it scared me a lot.

“After a few minutes I heard my baby cry. I think that they will put him aside, no. More time passes and I ask him, ‘And the baby?’.”

Karla revealed she only realized the extent of his injuries when her husband Juan Solis showed up and told her what had happened to their newborn son.

“I was waiting for a doctor or someone to come in and give me an explanation, but it wasn’t,” she added.
