Vladimir Yadne, 32, was imprisoned for life for killing three people who he chose to “taste the meat” in a remote village in Russia while washing it down with alcohol
A Russian cannibal killer who washed the meat of his victims with vodka has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Vladimir Yadne, 32, stabbed three people before consuming their raw meat in the remote Gaz-Sale village of 1,721 residents.
He found a man and woman who were friends and hugging when he came back from buying alcohol, heard a court hearing.
This sparked an argument between Yadne and the couple, which resulted in his killing the 51-year-old man and the 59-year-old woman on March 6 of that year.
“He then decided to try the meat of recently killed people,” said Inna Nosova, head of the criminal justice department in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region.
“He came in with alcohol and drank it while he ate the meat.”
The nature of the killer’s relationship with the man and woman was not revealed, as was the weapon used to kill his victims.
Yadne reportedly did not cook his victims’ meat and instead chose to eat it raw, along with vodka he recently bought that evening.
According to the case, Yadne also went to kill another man, 52, before eating his raw meat as well.
Police found the body of the second man he killed in a different location from the two friends he stabbed.
Yadne was quickly arrested a few hours later and immediately confessed to killing all three people, the report said.

The court was shown a crime re-enactment of how he murdered his victims.
Yadne underwent psychiatric tests after the murders based on the nature of the murders and the consumption of their meat.
The test found he was “sane” when he committed the murders and cannibalism acts, law enforcement officials said.
The killer was ordered to serve his never-released prison term in a harsh regime prison colony.
