Just a few days ago, North Korea said it had tested a hypersonic missile. Now the South Korean military is reporting that the country has apparently fired more missiles.
According to the South Korean military, North Korea fired an initially unidentified projectile. The projectile flew in an easterly direction, the general staff of the South Korean armed forces said on Friday. How far it flew and whether it was a new test of a ballistic missile was initially unclear. UN resolutions prohibit North Korea from testing such missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
North Korea last conducted a missile test on Tuesday. According to their own statements, a hypersonic rocket was tested. With such weapons, a so-called hypersonic glider can be launched from a ballistic missile.
