The 3G rule for offices has been planned for some time. However, professional life is to be restricted even further. Most Germans may have to work from home again soon.
Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD) wants to reintroduce an obligation to work from home due to the increasing number of infections with the corona virus. This emerges from a draft law that was completed on Friday evening and presented by the Federal Ministry of Labor to the traffic light parties SPD, Greens and FDP. 3G is also planned in the workplace. First reported the “Bild am Sonntag”.
“In the case of office work or comparable activities, the employer has to offer employees to carry out these activities in their home if there are no compelling operational reasons to the contrary,” the draft says. “The employees have to accept this offer as long as there are no reasons to the contrary.”
According to “Bild”, the parliamentary groups of the traffic light parties have been discussing the draft since the weekend. In the case of the FDP in particular, it is therefore still unclear how it positions itself.
The planned 3G rule at the workplace – i.e. the obligation to present proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test result – stipulates that the employer does not have to offer tests. Unvaccinated employees would therefore have to take care of a certified rapid test themselves on a daily basis.
