RENO, Nevada– “Avengers” star Jeremy Renner said he fractured more than 30 bones in the snowplow accident on New Year’s Day that left him hospitalized for more than two weeks.

Renner, who plays superhero archer Hawkeye in the Marvel film and TV Universe, posted a photo to Instagram with a caption that read:

“Morning workouts, resolutions that have all changed this special new year… Born out of tragedy for my entire family and quick to focus on uniting actionable love, I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I…. Lots of love and appreciation to you all. Those 30+ broken bones will heal and grow stronger as love and bonds with family and friends deepen. Love and blessings to you all.”

Renner was 52 years old in the hospital. He was injured by a snowplow while clearing a driveway near his Nevada home, leaving behind “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries,” his publicist previously told CNN.

He underwent two surgeries and was treated in intensive care.

On Monday night, the “Mayor of Kingstown” star responded to a Twitter post from the series, writing, “Out of my brain fog in recovery I was very excited to watch episode 201 with my family at home.”

A 911 call log obtained by CNN states that Renner was “completely crushed under a large snow groomer (vehicle)” and that he had “extreme (difficulty) breathing.” It continues: “The right side of his chest has collapsed – the upper body is crushed.”

Renner’s snow groomer, a motor-driven snow removal machine, began rolling away while Renner got out of the driver’s seat, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said earlier.

CNN contributed to this report.
