A World War I helmet was stolen from a property in Caithness.

A World War I helmet with a bullet hole was stolen from a property in Caithness.

The military headgear was taken away in a display case together with a model sailing ship.

Police said the thefts from a private collection happened between August 3 and 6 at a building in Forss, around 8 km from Thurso.

Officials asked for leads tracing the stolen items.

Police are not providing any further details about the burglary at this time.
