The clever calculator calculates the time required to go to bed to get up combined with information about the body’s natural sleep rhythm – every 90 minutes.
Often times, when an alarm clock wakes you up during one of the 90-minute cycles, people feel light-headed in the morning – and it seems harder to get out of bed.
The sleep calculator, developed by the team at interior design specialist Hillary’s, can calculate the time it takes to go to bed to ensure that you wake up with a jump in step.
Would you like to wake up fresh at 7 a.m.? Go to bed at 9:46 p.m., 11:16 p.m., or 12:46 p.m. for your night owls.
But if you want a little more sleep and don’t feel like getting up at 7 a.m. and instead want to face the day at 8 a.m., you can go to bed at either 10:46 p.m., 12:16 p.m., 1:46 p.m., or 3:16 a.m.
Tara Hall, a spokeswoman for Hillarys.co.uk, said, “Getting a good night’s sleep isn’t just about getting to bed early – it’s also about waking up at the right time.
“The sleep calculator uses a formula based on the body’s natural rhythms to calculate the best time to get up or fall asleep.”
Adults need up to nine hours of sleep a night – but it depends on the individual.
A recent YouGov poll found that nearly half of British adults are not getting the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep a night.
And men seem to be worse off: 56 percent of men say they are not getting enough sleep compared to 53 percent of women.
Lack of sleep can make us feel drowsy, but it can also affect our overall health.
Tyler Woodward, CEO of Eden’s Gate said, “A good night’s sleep is important for so many reasons.
“Not only does it improve your focus during the day, but it’s great for your mental and even physical health.
“Sleep gives your immune system the rest it needs to keep your body fit and healthy so it can fight off the fresher flu and all the nasty winter beetles.
“It is incredibly important to make sure you are getting the right amount of sleep. So if you are having problems, there are several remedies you can incorporate for sleepless nights.”
He stressed that you should try to relax at least 30 minutes before bed and set a caffeine curfew to make sure you don’t float around right before bed.
He also said that you should try not to sleep all day and exercise for at least ten minutes each day.
