The SUPERMARKET chain Tesco had to recall bags with their cough and cold powder.
The Tesco Max All-In-One Chesty Cough & Cold Lemon Sachets were removed from the shelves due to a label mix-up – the packaging says that the product is suitable for children.
The product is only sold by Tesco and around 78,000 packs from three batches are being recalled.
It comes because the British are currently battling “worst cold ever” after many lost immunity during coronavirus restrictions.
Dr. Alison Cave, MHRA’s chief safety officer, said patient safety is a priority.
He added, “We are committed to ensuring that the medicines you take are safe. It is vital that people check their packs with the Tesco Max All-In-One Chesty Cough & Cold Lemon Pouch and see if there is an affected pack if they do, stop using it and they should Return to Tesco for refund.
“We want to reassure patients and parents that if you or anyone under the age of 16 has recently used these sachets and they have not experienced any side effects, there is no need to worry.
“If anyone has any questions, please ask their doctor and report all side effects on the yellow card.”
