Zoë Kravitz’s mom convinced her to wear this $24,000 Tiffany bra

Zoë Kravitz isn’t afraid to make a statement on the red carpet. Thanks to her famous parents, Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, Zoë grew up in the spotlight. This means that fans of The Batman The actress has seen her style evolve over time. And while she’s had plenty of fashion-forward moments, one of the most talked about was in 2019. The actress donned a gold halterneck bra top by Tiffany & Co. while attending Vanity’s Oscars after-party fair attended. But it seems Zoë had to be coaxed into the revealing look.

For the event, Zoë paired a sheer black skirt by YSL with the sleek gold bra from Tiffany & Co’s Elsa Peretti collection. The look revealed her entire waist and back. And while she averted her gaze with confidence, the Big little lies Alum shared that she was vehemently opposed when her stylist Andrew Mukamal first approached her with the look.

“It’s been a process,” Zoë shared of her decision to wear the Tiffany & Co. bra while chatting with InStyle via Yahoo! “Even five years ago I would never have done that, but my stylist Andrew keeps challenging me. At first I thought, ‘There’s no way I’m wearing that.’”

But what exactly changed the actor’s mind? It turns out that mom has Zoë to thank for finally agreeing to the look. “Then I sent my mom a picture of it as a joke,” she recalls. “And she said, ‘Honestly, you’ve only got a few more years to wear this, so if you’re going to do it, you should do it now.’ And that really shaped me. Hearing them say, “You’re 30, and you’re kind of at that sweet point where you can just be proud of your body and still do that thing.” I was like, ‘OK, maybe this is a moment that won’t last forever.’”

Being proud of her body was something Zoë worked on for years before she ever wore the Tiffany bra. The actress has shared that earlier in her life she had a much less healthy relationship with her body. “I dealt with eating disorders in high school and in my early 20’s,” he said different alum explained. “I always felt like I had to look like a supermodel to do my job, which I don’t. The supermodels do it quite well.”

Zoë has clearly proven that being a supermodel isn’t a prerequisite for wearing a revealing outfit. But her skimpy attire wasn’t the only thing that was unnerving about her outfit. Because the Tiffany bra was made out of real 18k gold, it cost a whopping $24,000. Thankfully, Zoë was able to borrow it due to her relationship with Tiffany & Co. But according to the actor, the loan was very, very short-lived. “Oh, they picked that shit up off me right away,” she said. “They said, ‘Thank you. This is not yours.’”
