Nov. 15 (LPN) – Universal Champion Roman Reigns fought Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in the 19th WWE Class Tribute to the troops Special.
Tribute to the troops, which aired on Sunday, honors the men and women of the US armed forces.
Reigns and Nakamura had their champion vs. champion match in the main event. Reigns was accompanied on the ring by his special adviser Paul Heyman, while Nakamura was accompanied by his personal guitarist Rick Boogs.
Reigns was getting ready to deliver the Superman punch when Boogs started playing his guitar. Heyman begged his client to focus on the game instead, but Nakamura recovered and landed a kick in the face.
Reign’s cousins, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, then came on stage to attack Boogs and stop his guitar playing.
The league leaders later landed a Superman punch on Nakamura outside the ring and won the match after unleashing a spear.
Other matches at the event were WWE Champion Big E against Dolph Ziggler and Bianca Belair against Liv Morgan.
Tribute to the troops including former announcer Lillian Garcia, who returned to sing the national anthem, and video packs focused on model members of the military.
