ENGLAND’S all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney has advised Gareth Southgate to rest Harry Kane for the Three Lions’ final group game against Wales.
Kane, 29, played the full 90 minutes of England’s tie against USA despite having an ankle exam days earlier.
And Rooney believes the Tottenham ace was suffering from the effects of his minor injury.
Elsewhere, Lionel Messi inspired Argentina to a crucial 2-0 win over Mexico last night but Gary Neville was unimpressed by the football icon’s body language.
Neville said: “The players are no longer afraid of Lionel Messi. They easily take the ball from him.
He walks across the field and shrugs.”
